Bowling Supplies
Before going out and buying bowling supplies, you should bowl a few times first to just to make sure that you even like it. Bowling is more of a relaxed sport when you compare it to something like football or soccer, and if you aren't sure if you will actually enjoy it, you should definitely try it first.
When you are looking for a bowling ball, the rule of thumb is: 1 pound of ball for every 10 pounds of human. You should try the weight out before you buy it to make sure that it isn't too heavy for you. If you go to a store that specializes in bowling supplies, you can have the ball made to fit your hand perfectly. If you have the ball made custom, you probably won't be able to return it, so make sure everything fits good before you pay for it. If you are going to be bowling often, look for a bowling ball bag. The bag will keep your ball in good condition, it will make it easier to transport. Don't let others borrow your ball as the finger holes have been custom made for your hand and someone could get hurt if their fingers don't match the finger holes on your bowling ball.
If you are going to be an avid bowler, you should probably invest some money in bowling shoes. Having your own shoes will offer you more comfort than using the shoes the bowling alley offers. The shoes at the bowling alley may hurt your feet making it difficult to bowl well.
Using a heavier ball will knock down the pins but if the ball is too heavy, you won't be able to do much with it. Picking out the right weight will only help your game.
