Soap Making Supplies
For a soap stamp you can use almost whatever you want. You can just carve it out with a wooden spoon. You could use a miter box to make corners better, or you could go buy an actual soap stamp. If you are planning on selling the soap, then I would recommend you go buy a soap stamp. If you are making soap for yourself, any kind of stamp will do.
A soap making kit can contain anything from pots to the spoons you need to stir the soap with. But never use aluminum with lye. A kit is a nice thing to have but it's definitely not a must. You can make your own kit without buying one. You just need all of your materials for making the soap, a pot or two that's stainless steal and a few stirring spoons and you have your own kit.
A lye calculator can be bought at the store. But before you bought one I would check on the internet there may be a free calculator offered on some sites. Either way you should have a lye calculator if you are going to make some soap. Lye can be dangerous too so I would wear some eye protection if you are going to be messing with it, such as pouring it into water or anything where it could splash back at you. And you should always put the solid lye into the liquid never the other way around because there could be a reaction and you could make a mess and someone could seriously get hurt.
For making soap you can use any wax that you want. Beeswax is a popular one. You don't have to use just beeswax; you could use any type of wax you wish. But if you haven't heard of the wax used before I would look it up and check it out so you are totally safe and don't have to worry about any chemical reactions.
