Taxidermy Supplies
Taxidermy is a very interesting topic. Taxidermy is when you take an animal, and make a life-like sculpture of it with some of its skin but mostly made out of man made materials. The fish that people hang over their fireplaces are generally made of man-made materials. They make the sculpture from a picture of the fish and some its measurements.
With a deer, they just use its antlers and its skin. They make an entire animal out of its skin and antlers that will look life-like and really resemble the original animal. They make the eyes out of glass and the eye brows out of clay. They make pretty much everything out of just sculpture material.
They use these sculptures in museums and even just in someone's home. That way, they can have a trophy of the animal forever but it will never rot. Making the almost the entire piece out of mostly sculpture material will allow it to be forever preserved. This is ideal for museums or even just people that like to keep their trophies.
If you are going to be a taxidermist you have to have some artistic qualities. You have to know how to sculpt and paint as well as use their respective tools. The better you are at painting and sculpting, the better the animal will come out. The better you are the more life-like your taxidermy product will look.
